What is Phacilitate Automation?
_The Automation Community was created to discuss and propose solutions to major obstacles on the road to automating cell and gene therapy manufacturing. Each year we pursue this mission by formulating the SIG – a Special Interest Group that is tasked with a specific objective to accomplish and to be followed up on throughout the year.
Although the SIG has been put on hold in 2020 due to the coronavirus, the work of the automation community does not need to halt for the year. The Automation SIG is not defined by the ability for us to meet in person; it is defined by the community that builds it, their wish to drive tangible change and the outcomes they create.
To support this ongoing effort, we will be facilitating two working groups focusing on automation this year, taking place Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th of September, as a part of Phacilitate’s digital event – Advanced Therapies Connect. Though the working groups are not a replacement of the SIG, they will focus on selected SIG goals for this year and provide an important touchpoint for the Automation community to continue their work in 2020.
